Hi Rugged Glam-ers! I know it can be confusing to figure out which Pigalles are which – trust me, in my early Louboutin purchasing days, I was also very confused as to what’s what, and more importantly, what the hell is the difference?!

I’d be happy to lay it out for you. To show you the comparison, I’ll be using my Christian Louboutin Pigalle (V Neck) in black patent leather and my Christian Louboutin Pigalle Follies in Indian Rose patent leather.

The Christian Louboutin V Neck is essentially the Pigalle with a t-strap. Don’t let the extra straps distract you – it’s the exact same base (which is what we’re comparing).

The toe box on the V Neck is cut pretty short (shorter than, say, the So Kate). It has a 120mm heel (you can get shorter heels if you prefer, but like most Rugged Glam-ers, I believe the higher the heel the closer to Heaven).

In the newer version of the Christian Louboutin Pigalle Follies, the toe box is cut a little shorter. That gives more toe cleavage! HOTTT!

As for the sides, they are exactly alike. I don’t see any noticeable changes between the older version and the newer version.

And lastly, the heel. The heel on the Pigalle Follies is cut much thinner than the traditional Pigalle (or even Pigalle Plato). A lot of Louboutin wearers complained that it is harder to walk in these as a result; however, I welcomed the change because it made my wish of a So Kate heel on a Pigalle pump come true!

Of course the new, thin heel makes it much more delicate and you’ll probably replace your heel taps much sooner than you would have in the old Pigalle pumps…. but that is not a big deal in my opinion.

I still love the old look – both are classics and it comes down to personal preference and what you’re willing to put up for on the comfort scale.

Sizing: I recommend you purchase in your TTS Italian for both Pigalle styles. If you don’t know your Italian True To Size is, it is usually one size up from your US shoe size. For example, if you have a pair a Nine West heels in a size 8 US, your best Louboutin Pigalle fit is a size 39 (and so on…).

I hope that helps and if you have any questions, just comment below or send me a message on any of my social media platforms. Love you so much for stopping by and please like/follow/share if you haven’t already!

Happy contrasting Rugged Glam-ers!

Much Love,

RGxx
